About

The Tri-City Animal Shelter is located behind the Fremont Police Department at 1950 Stevenson Boulevard in Fremont. Our present shelter was dedicated in June 1988 as a cooperative effort between the cities of Fremont, Newark, and Union City. In June 2005, we began contracting shelter services to the community of San Leandro.

The Tri-City Animal Shelter is responsible for protecting lost and injured animals for our communities as well as providing a safe haven for adoptable pets. We invite you to visit us soon. You may find your new best friend at the Tri-City Animal Shelter!

Additional Information
Under California law, all dogs and cats must be spayed or neutered before release and it is shelter policy to extend this requirement to rabbits as well. Microchips are required for adopted pets. Fees are determined by services rendered for the animal and are subject to change. For example, if the animal was previously altered or too young for rabies vaccination, the appropriate cost will be deducted from your total. Additional fees may apply to certain animals if other services are deemed necessary. The Tri-City Animal Shelter is not responsible for any additional vet services or fees.
