Special Needs

Mika is a work in progress. She came to us with a lot of behavioral issues, the worst of which is severe leash reactivity. We have been working with two professional dog trainers, and Mika has made lots of progress. We are so proud of her! She is now almost adoptable.
Mika is very smart and energetic. She needs a home that will exercise her both physically and mentally, with experienced dog owners willing and able to set and maintain consistent boundaries. Her forever home will need to work with us to learn the protocols that have been succeeding so well or she will rapidly regress.
We have taught Mika basic obedience commands and have done some beginner level tracking with her. We feel she might also have the ability to do nose work and/or agility.
A home with small children would not be a good fit. She likes them, but is too boisterous for comfort. Other pets would have to be evaluated on a case by case basis.
