Bingo arrived at the shelter seemingly unfamiliar with a leash and very excited to see other dogs on his walks. Nicknamed “magnificent beast” by a volunteer, he’s big, strong, still a bit rough around the edges, but incredibly good-natured and willing to learn. His leash manners have improved by leaps and bounds since his arrival and will only get better in a home with a consistent human as his guide. Weekly training classes with included for FREE with adoption. Not dog park material, but has played nicely with a like-sized, female dog at the shelter. Structure and daily training will be needed to show him the way, but cheerful Bingo is ready to shine bright.

60/6/60 Adoption Program
Partnering Senior Animals with Senior Friends -- If you are 60 or older and adopt an animal who is 6 or older, you'll get 60% off the adoption fee!

Adoption Criteria (Non Bully Breeds):
In order to qualify as an adopter, you must bring proof of home ownership or your rental contract showing you are allowed to have pets before the adoption can be completed. If you're coming to adopt a new family or household pet, please bring your family members or other members of the household with you to the shelter -- including any other dogs in the family. We want to make sure your new dog is a good fit for both 2-leggers and 4-leggers alike.

Once the adoption papers have been completed, your new cat or dog will be transported to a vet by the Animal Shelter. You can pick up your new pet at the veterinarian. The cost for this procedure is included in the adoption price.

All cats and dogs adopted from the shelter will be neutered or spayed before going home as your new pet.

For information about low-cost veterinary clinics and our Low Cost Spay & Neuter Voucher Program program, please call the shelter at (510) 981-6600.
