Umbrella of Hope 'Be Our Pet'

1 yr old, 16 lb Boston Terrier and Pug Mix NEEDS DONATIONS

***NOT AVAILABLE -- NO APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED**

TAZ is recovering from a broken pelvis and we expect that he will be available for adoption mid-March 2018. The purpose of posting him is simply to solicit donations from breed fans towards his care which is estimated to be $1200-$1500.  These can be made online at http://www.paypal.me/UOH and are tax-deductible TAX ID 45-4103375.  We are an all-volunteer rescue who receives ZERO government funding.

We will announce on our Facebook page when he has been medically cleared.  We are NOT accepting applications or inquiries on him for ANY REASON at this time.  If this request is ignored, the application will be rejected and not reconsidered as our all-volunteer team is too busy to make exceptions***

Meet Tasmania... or as we call him Taz

Taz joins us from Antioch Animal Services where he was taken after he was hit by a car. He was never claimed and is now in our rescue. He is healing from a broken pelvis and is NOT available for adoption or application.

Taz is an almost 2 yr old, 16 lb Boston Terrier and Pug Mix. He was named after a Boston Terrier (also named Taz -- 4th picture) who belonged to our volunteer, Candi. She says the original Taz was a special boy who loved to sleep with her at night and he is VERY missed.

Our Taz is healing from a broken pelvis and will be available for adoption in 4-6 weeks once he is mended. He is NOT available for adoption and we are NOT accepting applications on him for any reason. He will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and parasite free upon adoption.

We are asking for contributions towards Taz's medical care which is expected to run $1200-$1500 depending on how many follow up x-rays he needs.

To make a tax-deductible donation towards his care, please do so online at http://www.paypal.me/UOH or send a check to our mailing-only address at 4040 Railroad Ave, Pittsburg, CA 94565.

Taz was lucky enough to be born a mix of two highly desirable breeds and we consider him to be highly adoptable. When the time comes for adoption, we are located in the Bay Area of CA and will adopt to any approved applicant who personally travels TO US with all of their household people and other dogs to adopt him. We are not Amazon and will not ship him off to places unknown as we care about him enough to want to meet his new family in person. DISCLAIMER (as there is always that ONE person who thinks they are special): If this policy does not work for you, we invite you to start your own rescue and run it any way you like for free in your spare time like we do -- there are plenty of dogs who need help.

Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5

Umbrella of Hope is a non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals off death row from local shelters. We offer rebates of adoption fees after completion of obedience classes and CGC titles.

Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet. Some of our senior animals have sponsorships for their food/vet care/medicine for the rest of their life at our vet in Pittsburg, CA (94565)

Adoptions to veterans of the US Armed Services are ALWAYS free to thank you for your service.  Other retired public servants, please let us know what career you retired from and we can let you know if we offer any discounts for your adoption

Please send an email to the Umbrella Of Hope Animal Director with any inquiries at beourpet@gmail.com. Detailed emails will be answered first.

We thank Maddie's Fund for their sponsorship, Well Pet Vet Clinic for providing most of our veterinary services, Lovely Grooming for our grooming needs, and Delta Dog Camp for training. We thank Memoirs of a Dog and Share the Joy Photography for the beautiful portraits of many of our animals and a special thanks to volunteer photographers Barbara, Kristy, Christine and Natalie.  Please support these businesses for supporting rescue!
