Siberian Husky

Parker the wonder pup with three legs is amazing, fun, sweet and charming. Amazing because he doesn't let missing a back leg bother him one bit! Fun because he loves dog parks, fetch, toys, all other dogs, kids and people. And he's so sweet! Loves giving kisses, rolling over for tummy pets, and especially cuddling up next to you on the couch or bed. And with his slightly crooked Harrison Ford smile and sweet eyes he charms and loves wherever he goes.

Parker came into rescue about 5 months old with a mangled and useless back leg which had to be removed. That in itself might have been difficult enough, and then months in a cone as he healed- but do you think it got him down? Not one bit! Fast forward a few months and now 1 year old Parker, fully healed and healthy, absolutely ZOOMS on three legs, jumps 3' up on my bed with ease, and is amazingly happy and unaffected by any trauma! He's one of the best natured dogs I've ever known. The only two things of note is that he needs to be fed separate as he gets so hungry (takes more energy for 3 legs than 4) that he won't stop at his plate. And, he will play very boisterous with other dogs so his doggie friends need to like that. Its important that he goes to a home with at least one other young playful dog.

Parker loves walks on a harness and he will sleep on a bed or dog bed. He is crate trained, but I've found he does best when left out of the crate when I leave. And Parker LOVES water and mud! He's a river and beach dog for sure! Bath time is also easy- as is grooming and nail trims. Such a wonderful pup in every way, and so wanting a place to call home and a person of his own. He will be the best companion for someone who loves him as much as he loves.

Adoption Fee Details

Adoption Fees

Our adoption fees range from $250 to $600, depending on the dog’s adoptability. Small puppies usually have a fee of $600, while older dogs have lower fees. Adoption fees go towards vaccinations, heartworm, spay/neutering, micro-chipping, and medical care if needed. Fees help with kenneling, food, collars, leashes, sometimes even toys, and possibly the use of a dog trainer to help with behavior problems. These fees all go towards helping the dogs. We are an all-volunteer organization, with no paid staff. You don’t get this kind of full service and care when “buying” a new dog. Your new dog will come to you altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. Now all you need to do is get ready to meet your new best “fur”ever friend.
