BONDED PAIR OF BASSETS

Peanut Budda and Zeus are happy, very lively hounds who have lived together all of their lives. They are very playful with one another and each misses the other when they are separated. In their playfulness,  in addition to being rough with one another, they are  destructive, loving to tear apart their dog beds, plants in the yard, anything that seems like a potential toy to them. They are not at all interested in playing with dog toys, preferring to  'create' their own 'toys' with whatever is handy to them. They are good with kids and adults and other dogs. Both dogs are very healthy, have no skin issues, are not nuisance barkers, and don't have any separation anxiety. Peanut considers walking a chore, not her thing at all, but Zeus loves walks and is good on the leash.

They  were surrendered to GGBR by their owner who kept them their entire lives as outside dogs. It  has been learned that they are happiest when living together with one another outside. Their foster family has not been able to train them to be inside dogs in the 2 1/2 months they have been in foster care.

•NOTE - we do ask for an adoption donation.  This is not for the purchase of the basset hound, but a donation towards the cost of caring for all the hounds that come through our Rescue.  Some cost more than others, and some hounds stay in foster homes forever, where their medical bills are paid for by GGBR on an ongoing basis.  On average a basset hound coming through GGBR costs approximately $700 in medical, spay/neuter, vaccination, heartworm treatment etc.  As a donation, this amount can be claimed as a tax deduction, along with other types of donation you make to us and other 501c3 non-profit organizations.  Payments made to GGBR for purchase of items via the Online Store are NOT tax deductible.  Donations in excess of the above amounts are welcomed!!
