Border Collie / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat)

Special Needs

Nina is a 1.5yo 45lb border collie/german shepherd mix. She has a lot of personality and can be a total derp (tongue hanging out sideways and everything)! But she is special needs because she came to rescue completely feral... It's taken many months for her foster mom to earn her trust and teach her how to do things normal dogs get to do (like car rides, being in the house, walks, etc). She's housebroken and crate trained, and walks amazing on the leash now! She loves other dogs and is good with indoor cats. She is pretty high energy and enjoys going on hikes and playing with her canine siblings. She MUST go to a home where there is a resident confident adult medium-large dog (she worships the male german shepherd in her foster home but plays well with a young female dobie.. she's fine with small dogs but she's a bit too rambunctious for them). She has also discovered the comforts of the couch and loves to lay along the top and get petted like a cat while you watch movies. Because she can still be skittish with people though, she should NOT go to a home with children or apartment living (no exceptions!). She would do best in a gentle, quiet adult only home with another dog and a house with fully fenced dog-proof yard. She has gained a lot of skills and confidence while in her foster home, but she is ready for the next chapter in her life with a new family that will continue to help her grow.
